Troubleshooting Power Failure of Your Laptop

Then is nothing more annoying than busily going about your company on the laptop and then all of a sudden all just goes black. For no apparent imagine the laptop has switched itself off.

It is definite that you are going to check your power source to make sure it has not come out on its own. If all is fine and your lead is still plugged in then the best thing to do would be to try a power cycle routine.

It is quite a uncomplicated routine so do not worry about doing this. All you need to do is to unplug your power lead. After you have completed this step you can then disconnect all the external hardware that is associated to the laptop.




Next you need to take off your laptops battery. The next step would be to hold down on the power button for a few seconds.

You may be mental at this stage that it is a bit of a silly thing to do when there is no battery in the laptop. There is however a method to the madness and it does work on a lot of occasions. By holding down the power button you will get rid of any static that has built up inside your laptop through immoderate usage.

The static build up can cause the laptop to shut itself off at times. Sometimes you could use this routine if your broadband connection is playing up.

The final steps in this cycle are to check both the battery and power source separately. If your laptop is working on the battery but will not work with the power source there is a good opening that the adaptor needs replacing. If on the other hand your laptop works fine with the power but will not control with the batter alone then the batter has to be replaced.

Some makes of laptop come with built in error light codes. These mean that you can just refer to the manual to find out the cause of the problem and rectify it accordingly.
